Donations Help Hospice Stay Mobile
As part of funding received from the Lady Angela Rooker Memorial fund, St. Mary's Hospice has been able to purchase an additional van and a Suzuki 4x4.
The van is already being used by the retail team when moving goods throughout the area and by the fundraising team when traveling to and from local events. The Suzuki is used by St. Mary's nurses throughout the area. It has enabled them to reach more people in their own homes and therefore has significantly improved patient's access to palliative and supportive care. The van and 4x4 have been signed free of charge courtesy of Graphix Signs.
In addition, Alan Myerscough Ltd from the Ellers in Ulverston has generously made available to St. Mary's Hospice a 2007 Ford Focus estate. The car will be used mainly by St. Mary's nurses as they travel to provide care to patients in their own homes throughout Furness and the South Lakes.
Company Director Alan Myerscough made a conscious decision to offer the use of a fully maintained car to St. Mary's, in recognition of the valuable services provided for the local community.
The car has been signed with the hospice details and was handed over to staff on Monday 11th February.
