St Mary's Hospice has teamed up with Giveacar; a not-for-profit voluntary organisation that raises money for charity by accepting donations of unwanted cars. They operate on a national scale and will pick up any car, whether roadworthy or not, at a time and place convenient to the owner. All cars are collected free of charge.
Donated cars are either sold or scrapped, and all proceeds from the sale/disposal are given to charity. If you think your scrap car is worth nothing, think again! Giveacar has negotiated agreements with scrap dealers up and down the country to coordinate the collection and disposal of unwanted cars. Because of the high value of scrap metal, no matter what car you donate, a minimum of £50 will be passed on to St Mary's.
If you have a roadworthy car, with MOT and Tax, Giveacar will pick it up, store it, and sell it on your behalf. Don’t let your car sit in a garage, gathering dust. Use it to do something good!
As a true not-for-profit, Giveacar employees volunteer their time free of charge, and the organisation covers all administrative costs. They promise to donate the full value of the fee negotiated with the scrap yard or car buyer to the charity of your choice. Therefore, you can be sure that every penny of your car’s value will be passed onto St Mary's.
