BAE Systems Charity Challenge

The BAE Charity Challenge is a company-wide fund-raising and volunteering programme. It was established in 1990 and operates at more than 100 sites across BAE Systems and with their joint venture partners in five countries. The company matches funds raised and gives extra financial support to charities that provide employee volunteering opportunities.

BAE Systems UK selects a different charity to support every 18 months. The fantastic news is that BAE in Barrow have chosen St Mary's Hospice as their supported charity until September 2009. As 2009 will be our 20th Anniversary it couldn't have come at a better time. This will not only mean a jointly coordinated fundraising campaign, which should hopefully raise lots of money, but involvement days that our shops and some families benefited from last year will continue. We should also benefit from corporate match funding at the end of the campaign and develop a strong partnership with BAE for the future.
