Fundraising
St Mary's Hospice is proud to offer its services free of charge to patients, their families and carers. It costs in the region of £2 million each year to run current hospice services of which the hospice has to raise £1.8 million. It is only through the generosity, support and goodwill of local people that the hospice is able to keep providing its vital services.
It is very simple to help St. mary's by raising funds in a way that suits you and benefits the hospice. There are all sorts of ways in which individuals, groups, companies and schools can help us to keep on providing our care and support for patients and families.
Ways to donate
Any money that you donate will go directly to supporting the hospice in providing specialist medical and nursing care for local people suffering from serious progressive illnesses. Join the Lottery
The lottery currently has over 8,000 playing members and has become a major source of hospice funding. For £1 a week you can give vital support to the hospice and also have the chance of winning a valuable cash prize. Each week someone wins £1000 and there are an additional 32 other cash prizes. Restaurant Table Card Scheme
At participating restaurants, table cards or a reference on the menu will ask customers if they wish to have a voluntary £1 added to the table bill at the end of the meal. At the end of each month, the restaurant passes on the total money raised to St. Mary's Hospice. Every penny in £1 raised goes directly to providing care and support to patients and families.

Organise your own fundraising event Do you fancy a fun and exciting challenge with the added bonus of making a difference at the same time?
Fundraising events help to raise awareness about the care that St. Mary's Hospice provides as well as raising much needed funds. Holding your own fundraising event offers the chance to have fun, meet people and make a difference. It is also a brilliant opportunity to be creative and innovative.
If you would like to organise your own fundraising event, but don’t know how to go about it, please let us help you. We have a team to support you with your fundraising to make sure it is both successful and enjoyable. We will provide you with any posters, leaflets, sponsorship forms, and collection boxes that you may need. We will also publicise your fundraising event on this website and in our newsletter.
Holding your own fundraising event will in return provide you with a thoroughly enjoyable experience, an opportunity to challenge yourself and the sense of personal achievement that comes from knowing that you have made a difference. Collection Boxes
We are always grateful to all pubs, shops, cafes and other businesses who display one of our collection boxes. Having a collection box in your establishment is a safe and easy way for you to support St. Mary's Hospice. Last year we raised over £1000 from generous customers making donations in our boxes, but we are looking to dramatically increase our outlets.
